About The Team

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (what a name) franchise goes way back to late 1980's. After spending the 1987-1988 season in the AAHL, they joined the East Coast Hockey League as one of the founding teams the following season. Since 2015, the clubs name has been the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

Greenville sits in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. Much like a number of other cities in the region, there's lots to do in the surroundings areas (outside of attending a Swamp Rabbits game) and the city itself has a nice southern charm/feel to it.

Interesting Facts

Greenville is home to one of professional baseball's most infamous characters, Shoeless Joe Jackson (what a name).

Jackson has a questionable past personally, but in terms of sports on the field, he's noted for his ability and contributions to the sport of baseball. The Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum in town is dedicated to both his life as a ball player and his legacy.
