About The Team

The Icemen franchise dates back to 1992 (Muskegon Fury), but the present day club has played in Jacksonville since 2017. Jacksonville draws some of the larger crowds and attendance numbers in the league.

"I'd say Jacksonville was my favorite pro team to play with. The camaraderie we had among our team it that room was tight. Memorial Arena is as packed as it can get it the Coast. Outside of hockey, just so much to do in Florida from sitting by the pool, dining outside, and enjoying beaches there on the Atlantic Ocean."

VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena

VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena is a multi-use arena in Jacksonville, FL that is home for the Jacksonville Icemen. Along wiith being the Icemen's home base, the arena plays home for the city's basketball and arena football teams. With a hockey game capacity of 13,141, Veterans Memorial Arena has ranked highest in the ECHL for average home game fan attendance. This arena is one of the best in the league and Icemen games are always exciting in big part because of this.

0. The Jacksonville Icemen have not yet won a Kelly Cup championship in the ECHL. It's only a matter of time before they bring one of the ECHL's biggest fanbases home their ultimate prize.

Jacksonville sits on the Atlantic Ocean and has miles upon miles of quality beaches, family fun, and entertainment. Though it's not the first destination that always comes to mind when people think of Florida, it's certainly a great place to live year round (and travel to).

Interesting Facts

Rumor has it that underneath the streets of downtown Jacksonville, there's actually a network of underground tunnels that dates back over 100+ years. How much is urban legend and how much is real? We don't really know. We're just sharing it because we found it interesting and a couple Icemen who played there said that they went on a tour once that was mentioning the supposed history of it which is interesting in and of itself.
