About The Team

The Mavs were founded in 2009 (in the CHL) and were originally called the Missouri Mavericks. Since 2017, the club has played as the Kansas City Mavericks.

Cable Dahmer Arena

Cable Dahmer Arena is where the Mavs play all home games. Located in Independence, Missouri, the multi-use arena also plays home for the Kansas City Comets (MASL) and holds countless other events throughout the year ranging from sporting events and festivals to business tradeshows. The arena can hold up to 5,800 spectators for ice hockey games.

Independence has a rich history in American culture as a starting point for several famous trails during the early to mid-19th century. Those being the Oregon Trail, the Sante Fe Trail, and the California Trail. These trails offered hope and adventure to thousands of people wanting to make it rich out West. Independence at that time happened to be that starting place where they got set for those journeys- interesting!
