The Rapid City Rush are yet to win a Kelly Cup in the ECHL, but the club won a Ray Miron President's Cup in the former Central Hockey League (CHL) in the 2009-2010 season.
Some of the most well-known cult players (scorers, fighters, etc) in Rush hockey history are as follows:
Set in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Rapid City is in close proximity to a number of the states biggest draws and attractions- Mount Rushmore (35 min drive), Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse which is around a 45 min drive to the southwest. The city offers great scenic views and when you visit, you'll get a strong sense for it's Native American Heritage and history. It's not the biggest city in terms of size compared to some other places in the league, but it's a very unique place to play and the region is unlike any other in the US.
Did you know that Rapid City has an art exhibition called the "City of Presidents?" It's an art project in downtown that features life-sized statues of every US president in history. The city has a fun tour that goes along with it. Many visitors make an afternoon of it while also stopping at shops, restaurants, and exploring the rest of the city.
