About The Team

The Baton Rouge Zydeco organization in the FPHL was founded in 2023, making the Zydeco one of the newest teams in the league. Minor league hockey isn't new to Baton Rouge as the Baton Rouge Kingfish (ECHL) played here a few decades ago.

Raising Cane's River Center Arena

The Zydeco play out of the Raising Cane's River Center Arena. The arena can hold 8,900 spectators for hockey games and sits right along the banks of the Mississippi River. Along with being the Zydeco's home ice arena, the venue also hosted popular concerts, tradeshows, and various conventions/exhibitions throughout the year.

Each year, the community comes together for the cities official Mardi Gras parade. LSU and the universities football program are one of the most respected NCAA football programs in the country. We mentioned this briefly earlier, but it's worth emphasizing on further since it plays such a big part in what LSU resembles. Not only do 100k fans show up on college game days, but the entire region loves/supports the team and they've won numerous college football national championships.
