About The Team

The Port Huron Prowlers organization began play in the league during the 2015-2016 season. During their inaugural first season in the FHL (now FPHL), the Prowlers went on to impressively win the league’s championship that very first year. The team is based in Port Huron, Michigan. With Port Huron being based in Michigan just across the border from Ontario, Canada, they seem to draw a quality number of players from Canada.

What players say...

"Man, I loved playing in Port for the Prowlers. The org here treats players well and we had a stacked team. Almost half of us were Canadian on the roster when I played there. With the team being so close to the border, was nice for number of our families to be able to drive over for games often throughout the season."

McMorran Arena

McMorran Arena is a multi-use arena that plays home to the Port Huron Prowlers. The arena can hold up to around 3,400 spectators for ice hockey games and 4,800 for concerts. Port Huron isn’t the largest city so they don’t draw large crowds (they average around 1,250 fans per home game), but the clubs ardent fanbase that attends brings the volume. Attending a game here is fun for fans alike whether you’re a young kid or a much older seasoned ticket holder who’s always there to support the team every weekend. Alongside being the minor league teams main arena, the arena is a venue for all types of events ranging from trade shows and conventions to circuses and major concert events (everyone from Bon Jovi to Johnny Cash has played here).

Just north of downtown, you can take the Blue Water Bridge to/from Canada in a matter of minutes (excluding border traffic 🐌). Situated right at the bottom of Lake Huron, there’s no shortage of boating, fishing, and waterfront activities to enjoy during the warmer months. In the winter, you can find plenty to do as well alongside hockey. Port Huron has some great restaurants, bars, and a few taverns that serve as great places for locals and tourists to enjoy year round.

Interesting Facts

One of the most famous inventors to ever live, Thomas Edison, lived in Port Huron for nearly a decade when he was a boy. If you visit Port Huron today, you can visit the Thomas Edison Depot Museum. The museum itself is the actual depot that Edison worked out of when he was a young news reporter. Edison’s life story is fascinating and has impacted much of the technology we all use today (the lights in our houses, the headphones in our ears, and the phones each of us holds) so it’s worth checking out when you’re in town.
