Billet Family

What's a Billet Family?

A host family that provides housing accommodation for players (often younger junior hockey players) who move away from home to play for a team. Much more than providing a living situation in season, many billet families have a love for the game of hockey and form deep bonds and friendships with players during these formative years of their career.

Billet Family: Example

My billet family during juniors was amazing. Not only did they give me a place to stay, but they welcomed me into the family. We cooked dinners together, they came to all games, and it was a great experience. Years later, I still look back fondly on the experience and am grateful to have had the experience while playing juniors.
