About The Team

The Birmingham Bulls began play in the SPHL in 2017. Birmingham has a history of hockey in town and has had minor league hockey teams in three prior leagues (WHA, ACHL, ECHL), but the organization we see today began play in Pelham to start the 2017-2018 season.

What do players say?

Birmingham was a great spot for me to play in "The Sizzler" (SPHL). I was able to earn a call up to the coast. The arena is in Pelham which is just a short distance south of Birmingham. You're busy with hockey, but there's lots to do. When I was with the team- on off days or after some practices, we got quite a bit of golfing in even during the winter months with the warmer weather.

Pelham Civic Center

The Bulls play their homes games at Pelham Civic Center. The center has two rinks, but the main arena where the team plays games is a 4,100 seater. Along with being the main arena for the Bulls, a number of colleges (University of Alabama hockey) and youth organizations (Pelham Youth Hockey) run their organizations on ice activities out of here.

0. The Birmingham Bulls are yet to win a championship (President's Cup) since joining the SPHL back in 2017.
