Evansville Thunderbolts are a minor pro ice hockey team that plays in the SPHL. The organization is currently based in Evansville, Indiana.

About The Team

Evansville Thunderbolts started play in the SPHL in 2016. Prior to then, the Evanville's Icemen (ECHL) were the team in town. After the IceMen were not able to renew a lease at the Ford Center, a new ownership group secured an expansion team in the SPHL. Following this, the team began it's first year in the league for the 2016-2017 season.

Ford Center

The Thunderbolts play out of the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The arena can seat an impressive 11,000 people and is primarily used for concerts and hosting the cities basketball (University of Evansville) and hockey (Evansville Thunderbolts) teams throughout their seasons.
